Cinthya Marquez Lobos, CRNP, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, clinical instructor at La Salle University, and co-owner of Lumen Aesthetics and Wellness. With a background in emergency nursing and primary care, her clinical interests include obesity medicine, metabolic health, women’s health, preventative care, and improving healthcare accessibility within underserved populations. She is particularly passionate about advancing awareness and treatment of PMOS (previously known as PCOS) through a more comprehensive endocrine and metabolic lens, with a focus on patient education, early intervention, and long-term health outcomes.
As a fluent Spanish-speaking provider, Cinthya is dedicated to reducing communication barriers in healthcare and advocating for culturally responsive, patient-centered care for Spanish-speaking communities. Her work emphasizes bridging gaps in health literacy, improving patient understanding, and empowering individuals to take an active role in their care. In both clinical practice and academia, she is committed to mentoring future healthcare providers while advancing conversations surrounding obesity medicine, metabolic disorders, provider education, and equitable access to care.

This presentation explores the transition from PCOS to PMOS and the importance of recognizing the condition as a complex endocrine and metabolic disorder rather than solely a reproductive syndrome. Attendees will examine how this diagnostic shift impacts patient care, provider understanding, early intervention, and long-term outcomes. The session will highlight the role of insulin resistance, metabolic dysfunction, inflammation, and associated comorbidities while providing practical strategies for improving patient education and multidisciplinary management in clinical practice.

This presentation explores the impact of language barriers and communication gaps in healthcare for Spanish-speaking patients. Attendees will examine how language discordance can contribute to delayed diagnoses, medication misunderstandings, decreased adherence, and reduced patient trust and engagement. The session will also discuss cultural nuances, health literacy, and practical strategies providers can implement to improve communication, strengthen therapeutic relationships, and deliver more equitable, patient-centered care.

This rapid-fire session explores how social media is reshaping patient expectations, health literacy, self-diagnosis, and trust in healthcare. Attendees will examine the impact of online health trends, misinformation, and influencer-driven medicine on clinical practice while learning practical strategies to improve communication, address misinformation, and strengthen patient-provider relationships in the digital age.
